So back in October, I was the documentary wedding photographer for Gail and Andrew at Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire. A very popular choice of venue for my couples in 2012. In fact, considering I only take on around 25 weddings per year, just under half of these were at Prestwold.

The day started off with Gail getting ready at a beautiful country farm house close to Bradgate Park in Leicester. The preparations were going very smoothly indeed and I decided to make my way to church to capture the bride’s arrival.

During 2012, I was a wedding photographer in Leicestershire at Prestwold Hall many times, and while writing this latest blog post it occurred to me that I can actually remember everything about each and every couple’s day. Emotional moments between the bride and groom, how nervous the bride was before the ceremony, the sad and funny parts of the speeches to certain guests that stood out in my mind. Some of these weddings I shot almost a year ago, so why do I remember so much about them?

This weeks wedding is actually one I shot back in the summer at the stunning Prestwold Hall in Loughborough. I’ve mentioned in the past that this venue has been a very popular choice for my couples this year. It’s not surprising though as this really is such a lovely place to have your wedding day.

The staff are very attentive, the building and grounds are simply stunning but my favorite room has to be the dining room. I really don’t think I could ever tire of shooting weddings here…

When photographing a wedding at a venue which I have worked at numerous times, it’s very easy to fall into the trap of taking the same shots over and over again. So when Liz and Adam asked me to photograph their wedding at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough, I wanted to take photographs that were completely different to the time before.

Taking this approach forces me to look for pictures that I might not have seen before and enables me to be more creative. Take for example the dancing images below. I would usually freeze the moment so that you have a static first dance picture, however…
